"I wrote my latest project, the EP “Hold on Virginia,” during a time of incredible uncertainty. The title track, “Hold on Virginia,” was written while I was living in Washington, D.C., not sure where my future would take me. I penned “Borrowed Time” about my sister, while she was on life support, when no one knew if she was going to live. Finally, my last track, “Greyhound Bus,” was jotted on napkins at my very first gig because I didn’t think anyone would even come to my gig, let alone stay for the duration of the set (spoiler: they did). From this uncomfortable time came incredible growth—encapsulated in these three tracks.
The recording of this EP could not have happened without the incredible guidance and encouragement from the talented Richmond-based musician, James Baxter. His perfect guitar arrangements breathed life into “Hold on Virginia” and “Borrowed Time.” Saw Black, another Richmond musician, recorded each note on tape in his basement and produced the tracks. These tunes are raw, authentic, and powerful, and the final product is so much more than what I ever thought possible." -Caitlin Lane
Caitlin Lane is a Richmond, Virginia bred country-pop singer and occasional model distantly related to Elvis. She got her start singing in Irish pubs at the age of thirteen. Her music is defined by powerhouse vocals and a twangy guitar. Her live shows are known for their energy, crowd participation, and eclectic set list (you'll hear everything from Kendrick Lamar to Johnny Cash). Caitlin has performed all over the Richmond, Charlottesville, and Roanoke areas, at many different venues including Sidewinders in Roanoke, the Miss Virginia stage at the Berglund Center, and the Camel in Richmond. In addition to music, Caitlin's pastimes include crashing cars, searching for successful pickup lines, and making questionable decisions (which often become the subject of her music). She is sometimes accompanied by extremely talented local guitarists, who all kindly look past her sarcasm and behavior.
"She has the voice of an angel. A sarcastic, whiskey soaked angel."
"My name is Whitney and I take photos. I am a film inspired lifestyle photographer. My work is inspired by raw emotion. I strive to capture a feeling with each and every photograph I take. When photographing a person/people, I am very unposed. I don’t do the whole “sit up straight & smile” thing. I tell them to relax, be themselves and just be normal. I believe that is how I get my very best work, when people are freely being themselves.
I am a photographer because I love to create these photographs for people that will last them a lifetime. And when they look at them, I hope they can remember just how they felt in that very moment. I feel so full after delivering a gallery knowing that I have basically stopped time for a second and captured something so special."
