On September 10th we are headlining the canal club for our tour kick off show with other locals Flight Club, Underdog Champs, and Kept At Bay. This will be our first time playing at home since March and we hope to see some familiar faces, as well as plenty of new ones! Follow us on Facebook and Twitter @centerfoldsva." -Ben Ciucci
Following their debut album, “Flight Patterns and Fist Fights”, She’s a Legend returns with their EP “Room 434”, which features more mature themes and sounds than the bands previous record.
You may have seen the band recently previewing some of the songs, plus old favorites at the Carytown Watermelon Festival on the XL102 Main Stage. She’s a Legend combines a variety of musical influences to create a sound and live experience that fits with their unique style. “Room 434” allowed the band to explore a changing and maturing sound, which they are anxious to share with listeners. The EP was recorded at the Monster House studio with Mike Bridgett, who has recorded and worked with Turnover, Have Mercy, Handguns, and Broadside. She’s a Legend is currently scheduled to perform with Cute is What We Aim For at Strange Matter on the date of their EP release, September 16th. More upcoming dates are currently in the works. "I'm a fidgety human that moves and grooves and my art needs to move right along with my beat. Three years ago I found that working with a moving image allowed me to easily combine my love of literature, image, performance, and sound so I dove into the experimental world of animation and haven't stopped. I work frame by frame which can be a tedious process, but when I am engrossed in breaking each second down to 12, 24, or even 30 frames my perception of time is slowed and there is less anxiety. Which means I don't fidget when I'm making my weird and uncanny moving pictures for you to watch." -Isabel Layton
"This City Called Earth is an experimental band that focuses on the premise of unorthodox musical ideas utilizing unique rhythmic, harmonic, and ambient textures. Being based on the East Coast of the US, sonically TCCE gravitates toward darker, more abrasive sounds with elements of post rock/post metal, angular post punk, but with elements of jazz and funk rhythms and grooves." -Anthony Vargas
